Select Alumni gets drafted in the 2nd Round of the 2008 NBA Draft
Former Select standout Richard Dorsey fullfilled his lifelong dream by getting drafted by the Portland Trailblazers in the 2008 NBA Draft. Joey, the name he is accustomed to answer to, finished his four years at the University of Memphis by loosing a tough game in the 2008 NCAA Championship vs. Kansas. Joey began working out for a few NBA teams and was getting interest by many because of his strong body and ability to control the paint. The Portland Trailblazers drafted him 33rd and eventually traded him to the Houston Rockets. He will be joining fellow Baltimore area player, 1st Round draft pick, Donte Greene from Syracuse University. Congratulations Joey!!!

17U Select team gets beat down in the Elite 8 at the DC Assault Classic
Coach Holley and the Select 17U team did not have an answer for the DC Blue Devils squad in the Elite 8 game yesterday at the DC Assault Classic. The Blue Devils jumped to a 15 point lead with 10 minutes left in the 1st half and never looked back. The Select team fought hard in the early stages of the 2nd half, cutting the lead to 9, but with costly turnovers, bad shot selection and no intensity, the team eventually lost by 30 points. Good luck in June!!!
