12U Select team looses a tough one at the Maryland Invitational

Going into the Maryland Invitational, Coach Ken knew that he was going to face some familar foes as he got further along at the tournament. In the second round of the playoffs he me Team Texas, a team thay he has gone 1(W) and 1(L) over the past two years. This round of 16 game was a tight one throughout with Team Texas pulling ahead in the 4th quarter and eventually winning by 11. The select team had a 3 point lead starting the 4th period, but after 6 straight poor try executing there offense and taking bad shotswhich gave Team Texas the chance to take the lead and never surrender. This is one of the biggest tournaments in the country for this age group and the team knows what it must do to get back to there winning ways for the upcoming AAU Nationals being held in Hampton, Virginia.

15U Select team looses in the Elite 8 of the Super Regional

Coach Dotson took his team down to the Super Regional this weekend at Catholic University in Washington, DC. The team has practiced well and it showed with two tough wins in pool play. In the first game, they won a tough game with both teams exchanging the lead throughout the second half. Eventually the Select team was too fast for their opponents and won by six points. The second game the Select team found themselves down 22-5 at the end of the first quarter. That woke them up, so by the end of the third quarter the Select team got the score tied and it went back and forth from there with Select coming up with a hard fought one point win. On Sunday, the team met with the Maryland Sure Shocks, a team they split with in the Maryland State Tournament. The SureShots gave the Select team a fight that we did not win. SureShots tool a late lead and never relinquished.

Great job 15U team!!!
