Lewis and Thomas leads George Mason to 2006 Final Four

Photo: Jai LewisFormer Baltimore Select players lead George Mason to the 2006 Final Four after beating #1 ranked UCONN Huskies. The road to the final four for George Mason solidifies them as a strong mid-major program. They have beaten Michigan State (2005 Final Four Team), North Carolina (2005 NCAA Champions) and the UCONN Huskies (2006 #1 ranked team). They did it with there excellent inside play; Thomas and Lewis dominated the interior going for 19 pts and 20 pts respectively. Thomas also grabbed 12 rebounds in the elite 8 game vs. UCONN. They had no answer for them, as George Mason just dumped to the paint and read the defense. If they collapsed and doubled down, Lewis and Thomas would kick it out to an open teammate for an open three; if UCONN played straight up, both post players abused UCONN and scored. George Mason will have another tough task vs. the Florida Gators next weekend in Indianapolis. Good Luck fellas!!!!!
