Spruill leads Walbrook to 2nd straight City Championship
With Rodney Spruill scoring 22 points and his brother Brandon Spruill scoring 12 points, the brother lead the Warriors to there 2nd straight city public school championship over the Sabres of Southwestern. With an outstanding defensive showing by point guard Marc Davis shutting down the cities leading scorer, Jamal Barney, holding him to a total of 8 points with 4 of them coming in the final minutes when the score was already out of hand. Junior center Kevin Thompson added an outstanding job on the boards and blocking shots, Walbrook was unstoppable and made the game lopsided. Coach Bridgers had a great game plan that the Sabres seemingly could not adapt to by putting Rodney on the box and using his athletic ability and quickness in the post instead of on the wing where the Sabres are used to seeing Spruill. It was great coaching and great playing by all the Walbrook team. Congratulations and good luck in the Maryland State Tournament.
