Welcome to Baltimore Select

Baltimore Select exploded on the basketball scene in 1998. The program is new, but the person behind the program is not a stranger to basketball. Scott Bowden, an assistant principal in Baltimore County Public Schools has had successful programs and players at Rosedale Recreation, Overlea High and St. Francis Academy. He decided to develop Baltimore Select because of a void in the Baltimore area of developing the whole player, both academically and athletically.

Baltimore Select was formed in order to have a more player-oriented organization. Players are invited to take part in the decision making process of the program, which helps players invest in their own future. What makes this organization stand out from other programs in the Baltimore area is the dedication of the entire staff to prepare and assist players to move on to the next level in life.

One of Baltimore Select's goals is to secure the maximum amount of exposure for the players on the team. To achieve this goal, the team will travel frequently to as many top tournaments as possible.

In addition, we emphasize the importance of a strong academic background. Our organization wants all of its participants to realize the significance education has in a successful future. Baltimore Select stresses this importance by providing players with the opportunity to participate in SAT preparatory programs along with providing support to players for the SAT or ACT.

Realizing we want to win, we also strive to develop players athletically as well as academically, with the goal of moving players to the next level. Baltimore Select is committed to developing the whole player.
